HomeGenius
A homeowner-relationship platform for residential real estate brokerages. The mobile app the homeowner opens every month for their wealth, their home plan, and the agent who closed their deal. White-labeled per brokerage.
The problem
A real estate transaction takes months to close and then ends. The agent who worked seven figures of someone's life into a wire goes silent the day the keys change hands. The brokerage's relationship with the homeowner stops the moment the commission clears. Two years later, when the same homeowner wants to remodel a kitchen, refinance, look up their equity, or list again, they do not open the brokerage's app, because the brokerage does not have one worth opening. They open Zillow. The lifetime value of the homeowner walks out the door because the closing was treated as the end of the relationship instead of the beginning.
What we built
HomeGenius is the platform a real estate brokerage uses to keep showing up after the close.
Two surfaces. A consumer mobile app for the homeowner, white-labeled per brokerage, lives on iOS and Android. A connected agent dashboard for the brokerage's team. Both are built on a shared design system and a shared API contract, so the surfaces never drift, and a partner brokerage can reskin the entire homeowner experience from a single theme swap. Same component code, different brand on the app store listing.
The mobile app is live with onboarding (Welcome, Address, Confirm, Ready, with spring-animated transitions and haptic feedback on the primary CTA) and the Wealth tab, which is fully wired against the data layer: live equity stat with year-over-year delta, an eighteen-month sparkline, home-value and mortgage tiles, and a things-to-do list. The Plan, Hire, Insights, and Profile tabs render against the design system as the next milestones land underneath them. The product runs on a mock API today; the zod-typed contracts in the api package are the schemas the production backend will implement when it ships, and the swap is a one-file change at the composition root.
HomeGenius is operated inside the Relay 1 portfolio by Yohana Balladares.
What we are learning
The bet behind HomeGenius is that the homeowner relationship is the most undervalued asset on a brokerage's books. A buyer closes once, then re-engages with their home every month for the next decade. The brokerage already has the data, the trust, and the agent in the relationship. What they do not have is a surface. HomeGenius is that surface.
The build is testing whether brokerages will pay for a white-label app that keeps their name in front of the homeowner forever, instead of competing with Zillow on listing search they will never win. The technical bet underneath is that the same design tokens and API contract can power a consumer mobile app and an agent dashboard cleanly enough that the unit economics work for any brokerage that wants in.
The pattern we are watching for is the pattern the studio carries into every build: pick the moment in the customer's life when the existing players have nothing to offer, and build the only thing they will open.
